Fire Breaks Out In A Covid Care Centre In Vijayawada

A tragic incident happened at Vijayawada that a hotel turned Covid-19 care centre was caught fire early Sunday morning.
According to the reports, at least seven Covid-19 patients died while may others were in a critical condition. It is suspected that there are some more bodies inside and the death toll is expected to rise.
A total of 40 people were reported to be in the Swarna Palace hotel, which is now serving as Covid-19 care centre at the time of the accident. Of these, 30 were Covid victims and 10 were hospital staff.
About 17 patients were brought out safely using ladders. Two staff members, including security guard Krishna Reddy, jumped from the second and third floors.
The victims are being shifted to Labbipeta, Metropolitan Hotel Covid Care Centers and the rescue and support activities are in full swing.
