FIFA World Cup 2022 is a big tournament for football and fans all over the world eagerly wait for the event to come. Unlike the previous tournaments, this event is not going to be the same as liquor was banned. Liquor was banned not only in stadiums but also at nearby places.

This came as a big shock to fans who enjoy their glass of beer while watching football matches. The Royal family of Qatar issuing guidelines on this raised many eyeballs as fans wonder how they can enjoy the match without liquor.

On the opening night of the World Cup fans expressed their anger at the non-availability of beer and raised chants of we want beer. After the Qatar team lost the match by 2-0, Ecuador fans chanted we want beer. Thousands of fans chanted this and wanted beer made available in the country.

On the opening night of the tournament, Ecuador and Qatar teams locked horns and saw the Ecuador team winning the match with a complete majority. Adding intensity to the match fans chanted we went beer slogans.

Ahead of the tournament, it was announced that no liquor will be allowed at the stadiums where the matches will be played. Eight stadiums in Qatar are hosting the matches and the sale of liquor in and around the stadiums was banned. FIFA announced the same.

"Following discussions between host country authorities and Fifa, a decision has been made to focus the sale of alcoholic beverages on the Fifa fan festival, other fan destinations and licensed venues, removing sales points of beer from Qatar's Fifa World Cup 2022 stadium perimeters," FIFA said.

Despite the major beer company Budweiser being one of the major sponsors of the tournament, the liquor sale was stopped. As a result of the ban on liquor massive piles of beer cans are lying at the warehouses. It is said that the beer companies will face a big loss due to this.

Usually, beer and alcohol sales hit the rooftop during any sports events in the west and other nations. But the trend is changed this time with the ban coming into effect.
