GHMC Elections Updates: EC Set Up 9,101 Polling Centres, Polling Underway

The much-anticipated Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) polling was started at 7 am for all the 150 divisions. The election campaign was for the polls was done with much intensity by the political parties.
The leading parties have targeted the sensitive issues to pish the opponents into defense and attract the voters in the city. For making sensitive remarks, two leaders were booked by the cops.
The Telangana State Election Commission has made all the required arrangements for the elections. As many as 9,101 polling centres were set up across the city. Polls are being conducted through ballets after 18 years.
To see that the voting process goes smoothly, the Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) deployed 48,000 reserve police personnel and 52,500 police personnel.
A tense situation arose at Banjara Hills Road no 12 at a booth where BJP activist and TRS activist accused each other of coming to the booth with party shawls and masks.
Celebrities like Vijay Devarakonda, Rajendra Prasad, and revolutionary poet Gaddar have cast their votes. They appealed to the public to exercise their right to vote.
For 150 divisions across four districts, 1,122 candidates are trying their luck in the local body polls. More than 74 lakh voters are going to use their right to vote for the elections.
Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi used his voting right. After casting his vote, he urged the voters in the city to cast their votes. He said voting strengthens democracy.
