The GST council's decision to levy GST on yogurt, milk and other essential daily use items has spawned a spate of memes and witty comments. The people are seeking relief from tongue-in-cheek comments against the decision taken by the GST council, which has the finance ministers of the Central and State governments. One post that is going viral on the social media lampoons the decision and evokes peels of laughter.

The post talks of cooking GST biryani. It goes thus: Put chicken meet purchased after paying GST into a vessel bought after paying GST. Then add chilli, yogurt, ginger and oil, all bought after paying the GST. Keep it in a refrigerator purchased by paying 28 per cent GST.

Then, place a kadai, purchased at 12 per cent GST on a gas stove working with a gas purchased at Rs 1150 light it either with a lighter bought at 18 per cent GST or with a matchstick bought at 12 per cent GST. Put spices, water and basmati rice, which was purchased at 5 per cent GST. Boil it and keep it aside.

Then take a biryani utensil and apply butter, bought at 12 per cent GST. Then allow the mixture and the basmati rice to cook for 40 minutes. To count time, use the watch bought at 28 per cent GST. Then the GST biryani would be ready.
