Gandhi Scion's Future Is In Courts Hands Now!

The grand old Congress Party which started getting the feeling that it can pose a tough fight to the Bharatiya Janata Party after the super success of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra faced a big blow with the verdict of a local court. He was convicted in a defamation case.
Hearing a case on the comments Rahul Gandhi said on the Modi community back in 2019, a local court convicted him and slapped him with a jail term of two years. However, he was given bail and a chance to go for an appeal.
Now it is said that the Parliament disqualified him as a legislator based on the verdict of the local court. Though he is yet to go for the appeal, the Parliament is said to have disqualified him.
With the alleged disqualification, Rahul Gandhi might not have another chance to serve the people. As he was sentenced to two years of jail, his candidacy as legislator remains a big question.
On the other hand, a few experts say that though Rahul Gandhi is disqualified, there is no issue as he can challenge the same in the higher court. The court gave a chance to go for an appeal.
So the future of the Gandhi scion is in the hands of the court. If the High Court feels that the disqualification is right then it might support the same. Or else the disqualification can be overturned.
Even if he faces a shocking verdict in the High Court also, he might move the Supreme Court. He can go for the single bench or bench of justices. Let us wait and see what happens next.
