The Peshawar city in Pakistan woke up to a blast at a seminary. The blast resulted in seven casualties, while as many as 70 people sustained injuries, media reports claimed.
Reports claimed the blast took place at a seminary in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Peshawar city. The police and rescue teams immediately rushed to the incident spot.
The rescue operations are still underway at the spot. So far, seven dead bodies and 70 injured victims have been recovered. Injured victims were rushed to the hospitals for treatment. The death toll is expected to go up as some victims have sustained severe injuries.
Some identified men left a bag which is believed to have 5 kg of explosives at a madrassa, local media claimed. The blast is believed to have taken place when a cleric at a Jamia Zubairia madrassa was lecturing about the teachings of Islam.
A few days back, another bomb explosion was reported at Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan. The explosion that took place on Sunday resulted in four casualties and two victims sustained severe injuries.
