High-Power Committee to favour development decentralization?

The much anticipated High-power committee comprising 16 members which have been formed to examine the reports submitted by the G.N.Rao Committee and Boston Consulting Group(BCG) on the development of the state and whether to have three capitals for the state will be submitting its report on January 20.

According to some media reports, like the two committees, the High-power committee will also favour the decentralization of development in the state.

The first installment of meetings of the High-power committee took place on Tuesday and discussed the possibilities of implementing the ideas of both the committees. Reportedly the committee will sit for a meeting in a couple of days.

This meeting was chaired by the Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He said the committee is analyzing the reports submitted by the previous committees. He also said that the committee will also seek suggestions from the farmers who have given 33,000-acres of land for the capital city.

The High-Power committee comprises leaders like, Deputy Chief Ministers Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and M. Sucharitha, Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao (Nani), I&PR Minister Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani), DGP Gautam Sawang.
