The municipal elections are round the corner, but chiefs of two major political parties appear to be quite relaxed. There is not even a bit of tension in these two leaders. Guess who these leaders are?
One of them is Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and the other is BJP Telangana chief Dr K Laxman. While Uttam Kumar Reddy has already indicated that he will step down so that others can take charge of the party, Laxman has already completed two terms and is officiating as the BjP chief on borrowed time. He too is all set to be replaced. So, both the leaders have nothing to gain and nothing to lose from these elections. Both will be replaced in any case. So, they are taking the elections coolly.
If anyone has to worry about the upcoming civic body polls, it is Telangana Rashtra Samiti's working president and Chief-Minister-in-waiting KTR. He has to prove himself in these elections and show himself to be worthy of the top post that he could be offered soon - the CM post. He has to show that he has the winning formula with him and that he can steer the party to victory.
