Everyone's focus is now on Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh as the vote counting started earlier today. The two states went for the general elections recently and the election officers are busy counting the votes. The early trends are making everyone glued to the TV screens to observe the developments.

The trends are not that surprising as many predicted that the same would happen. Making the popular opinion true the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in over 150 seats more than the magical figure. Political experts are saying that BJP will record another grand victory in Gujarat yet again.

BJP leading in Gujarat is not that surprising as the state has been a strong bastion for the saffron party for the past 35 years. BJP won the previous six wins and it is inching towards the seventh consecutive win. Moreover, the vote share of the party has also increased. It is said that around 53.6 percent of the vote percentage was recorded by the BJP in Gujarat.

In 2017 BJP won 99 seats and the party wants to cross the big figure too. Incumbent Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recorded a sensational win in Ghatlodia. The senior leader crushed Congress veteran Shashikant Patel by a big margin. He defeated the Congress opponent with a margin of 1.17 lakh votes.

Looking at Himachal Pradesh, the state is seeing a tough fight between Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party. BJP recorded its first win in the polls with incumbent Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur recording a good win. This is the sixth consecutive win for him from the Seraj constituency.

57-year-old leader Jai Ram Thakur has been winning the elections from Seraj since 1998. Despite losing the 1993 polls he took a strong decision and went for the same constituency. This made the constituency his strong turf.

Himachal Pradesh has a record of not voting for the incumbent government for the past few decades. The same is reflected in the current trends as Congress is leading in more seats than the BJP. As there is a threat from the BJP, Congress wants to protect the MLAs as per the information.
