The Hyderabad Cyber crime police got a big breakthrough in the OLX scam case, where the fraudsters have posed themselves as Army personnel and cheated people in Telugu states.
According to the information, the cops nabbed not less than 10 members from Bharatpur city in Rajasthan. Despite, heavy resistance, from the locals, cops arrested the suspects.
Based on a tip-off, the Hyderabad police and Bharatpur police have jointly conducted raids and nabbed the suspects in the village. The local villagers were believed to have attacked the cops.
Going by the information provided by the media reports, the situation at the spot reminded everyone of Tamil Hero Karthi 'Khakhi'. Just like the hero in the film, the cops went ahead and arrested the suspected.
When the cops went there, the locals pelted stones at them and even attacked them with chili powder. The situation reached a level that the police used tear gas to arrested them.
The suspects have started cheating the victims of Telugu states in 2018. To gain the trust of the customers, the fraudsters pose themselves as Army personnel and post ads on Quikr and OLX.
