Ahead of the auction for the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League(IPL), many franchises are said to be looking at releasing players who are not performing as expected.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mull releasing former skipper Dinesh Kartik who led the team for two editions, but failed to win the trophy for his side. He stepped down as the skipper in the middle of the 2020 edition.

The performance of Dinesh Karthik as Captain and batsman for the KKR has been raising many questions. He neither couldn't score runs with the bat nor win the trophy as a skipper.

It is also said that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) reportedly wants to release Kuldeep Yadav in the auctions as he couldn’t produce any notable performance with the bowl. He barely managed to take four wickets in the 2019 IPL.

By releasing the two players, KKR wants to save nearly Rs 13 crore in the upcoming auction. Dinesh Karthik was bought for Rs 7.4 crores, while Kuldeep Yadav joined the team for 5.8 crores.

It has been widely reported that Pat Cummins is also likely to be released from the team. He was purchased for Rs 15.5 crore but failed to fare well in the IPL as per his price.
