Iddaramayilatho effect: Overseas Buyers crying foul

We have seen almost all the big ticket Telugu films making a moolah in USA in the recent past. But, that's not the case with Iddarammayilatho! The film opened to mixed response from the NRI crowds and the negative reviews too played the spoilsport.

The Overseas theatrical rights of 'Iddarammayilatho' are acquired for around Rs 3 crore. Though the film was screened in highest number of screens in Allu Arjun's career, the openings haven't met the expectations.

As per the trade report, 'Iddarammayilatho' raked in Rs 1.38 crore till Saturday (Break-up: Thursday - $89,914; Friday - $82,008; Saturday - $71,954). The closing figure might be anywhere between Rs 2-2.5 crore. As a result, the buyers may insure losses to the tune of Rs 50 lakhs - Rs 1 crore. 'Iddarammayilatho' suffered a lot due to the strong opposition from 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' which collected $ 1.4 Million in just 2 days.

Allu Arjun's Julayi was a commendable hit in Overseas. It collected about Rs 4 crore in USA, making it the highest in our Stylish Star's career. However, the actor failed to repeat the magic with 'Iddarammayilatho'!
