India's count of Coronavirus infections surpassed the mammoth 9 million mark, after more than 45,000 infections were reported in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry's data said.

In the last 24 hours, India registered as many as 45,522 fresh Coronavirus infections, which makes the country's caseload to reach a whopping 90,04,365.

The country's recovery rate, which has been increasing gradually over the past few weeks rose to 93.60 percent, with a total of 8,428,409 patients beating the pandemic.

The total recoveries include 44,807 new recoveries registered in the past 24 hours. The active cases of Coronavirus in the country stood at 4,43,794.

In a piece of good news, the gap between the recovered cases and active cases is heading toward the landmark 8 million mark, as the gap widened to 7,984,615.

Looking at the fatalities related to the novel Coronavirus in the country, a total of 132,162 patients have succumbed to the pandmeic, including 584 fresh casualties registered in the past 24 hours.

Telangana registered 894 fresh infections in the past 24 hours taking the total toll to 2,61,728. While 2,47,790 patients have been recovered so far, the active cases stood at 12,515.

The other day Telangana High Court, which heard a petition on Covid-19 handling in the state asked the state government to increase the pandemic test count.

Globally, 57,194,529 patients have been diagnosed with the Covid-19 virus so far. While 39,687,611 patients have been recovered, 1,364,511 patients lost their lives to the pandmeic.
