We all know how much pollution is impacting us in our daily life. A total of 225 countries surveyed pollution standards. India ranks second on the list of most polluting countries. The survey said Nepal was the first country in the world. The survey revealed that India had failed to control pollution to the extent recommended by the World Health Organization.

According to the latest study, 48 crore people in the country, 40 percent of the country's population, have reduced their life expectancy by seven years. According to the 2013-17 Sample Survey, India's life expectancy has increased from 67 to 69 years, but due to pollution, it has declined by seven years to 60 to 62 years. The survey revealed that the impact was particularly pronounced in the states of Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal. Due to the extreme pollution impact of these states, the life expectancy of the people reduced to 62 years.

But the report says that there was no such pollution before 1998 and that it increased by 72% from 1998-2016. The central government is already running a National Clean Air India Program (NACAP) to curb pollution. As a result, it is planning to reduce pollution by 20-30% over the next five years. The report states that the average Indian life expectancy will increase by 1.3 years for 2 years in the seven affected states if the program is implemented properly.
