India Reports Highest Surge If Single-Day Cases

In a shocking development, India reported 15,413 fresh cases of the pandemic in the past 24 houses, taking the toll of the tota;l cases in the country to 410,461. This is the highest surge of single-day cases so far.

In a span of eight days, India witnessed 101,468 infections. On the 13th of June, India has 308,993 infections while as of now there are 410,461.

India witnessed 306 fresh casualties in the past 24 hours and the total fatalities ion connection with the contagious disease rose to 13,254. India is in 12th place when it comes to fatalities of the virus.

On a brighter note, 2,27,756 patients recovered from the virus so far and the active number of cases of the pandemic in Indis stood at 1,69,451. The recovered percentage of patients translates to more than 55%.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state in the country with the virus as the state reported 3,874 fresh cases in the past 24 hours, taking the toll of the total cases in the state to 1,28,205. The state reported 5,984 fatalities so far.

On the other hand, Tamil Nadu and National Capital Delhi are the worst-effected states in India followed by Maharashtra. While Tamil Nadu has a total of 56,845 infections, Delhi has 56,746 cases. These three states account for around 80% of the total cases.
