India Sees Highest Spike In Single-Day Covid-19 Cases With Over 1.15 Lakh Cases

The second wave of the deadly Coronavirus has come back double strong and hit India very hard. As a result, India added more than three lakh new Coronavirus infections in three days.

In the last 24 hours, India witnessed the highest single-day Covid-19 infections with not less than 1.15 lakh infections. This is the highest spike in infections since the pandemic entered India.

The fresh infections were reported days after the Union Government warned that the coming four weeks are very crucial to fight the pandemic. India added over one lakh new cases for two times in three days.

The 1,15,736 new infections and 630 deaths reported in the last 24 hours have taken the total of infections and casualties in the country to over 1.28 crore and 1,66,177 respectively.

The Union Government said, to tackle the pandemic situation, public participation is key and urged everyone to follow the Covid-19 behavior in order to bring the situation under control.

With the infections going up at an alarming level, Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh have imposed night curfew as a bid to curb the infections caused by the pandemic.

In a statement, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan urged everyone to wear a facemask and maintain physical distance outdoors and opined that people have abandoned these measures.

Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh reported the highest infections in the past 24 hours. These five states are also the worst-hit states with the Covid-19 outbreak.
