India To Witness Covid 3rd Wave In August

After the devastating Covid 2nd wave, India might have to start preparing for the imminent 3rd wave which might be onsetting in the next few days. As said by a team of IIT researchers, India might be witnessing the 3rd wave of Covid outbreak by the end of August.
However, the third wave of Covid will not be as devastating as the second wave and this is some good news. The daily caseload during the third wave will range between 1 - 1.5 lakh.
Mathukumalli Vidyasagar and Manindra Agarwal who hail from IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur respectively have developed a mathematical model that helps project the spike in Covid-19 cases.
As per the numbers churned out by this algorithm, India might witness not less than 1 lakh cases per day in the third wave. The caseload might go up to 1.5 lakh in the worst-case scenario.
Incidentally, the Medical Council had already warned 10 states in the country, including Andhra Pradesh to stay more vigilant amid the fast-approaching third-wave. The country should wage another battle against the virus outbreak and vaccination is one of the primary tools in this excruciating fight against the invisible enemy.
