India Witnessed A Massive Growth Of Single-Day Cases

In a shocking development, India reported the highest spike of single-day cases in the past 24 hours with 28,637 fresh infections. With the latest addition, the total cases in the country zoomed to 8,49,553.

On a brighter note, so far 5,34,621 people managed to recover from the respiratory disease, including 19,235 fresh recoveries recorded in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate increased to around 63%.

Maharashtra holds the unwanted record of being the worst-hit state in the country with the outbreak of the virus. The total infections and fatalities in the state stood at 2,46,600 and 10,116 respectively.

Tamil Nadu which is the second worst-hit state in India has 1,34,226 infections and 1,898 fatalities, followed by National Capital Delhi with 1,10,921 cases and 3,334

Globally, the total cases mounted to more than 1.23 crore, and 5,56,335 people succumbed to the fatal virus. The US is still the worst-affected country with more than 3 million cases followed by Brazil with over 1.75 million infections. India made it to the third spot in terms of infections.
