The India vs South Africa Test series did not improve India's record in the Proteas. Winning the South Africa fortress Centurion, Virat Men gave hope of scripting history by winning the series against South Africa on their home soil which is awaiting India for quite some time.
But all the hopes went for a toss with the hosts South Africa winning the series 2-1 after winning the third Test match at Cape Town. With the Indian batsmen failing to make an impressive impact, South African bowlers had less target to chase in the second innings.
Chasing a 200-odd score, Keegan Petersen turned a match-winning player for South Africa with a score of 82. Despite losing two early wickets, South Africa chased the score with the heroics of Keegan.
India posed a fighting total at the scoreboard with the fighting knock of Rishabh Pant. His stunning century came when the time needed the most. When other batsmen failed to shine with the bat, the aggressive player stunned with a ton. If not his century, then South Africa would have an easy target.
Winning a series in South Africa is something the Indian team has never done. Fans had high hopes that Virat men would achieve the feat. Sadly, the team could not reach the expectations and the dream of winning the series gets further.
