In a shocking development, India reported as many as 83,883 fresh pandemic cases in the last 24 hours taking the total infections to 38,53,407. This is the highest jump of fresh cases in a single day.

As per the information provided by the Union Health Ministry, 1,043 patients lost their lives due to the contagious disease. With this, the total fatalities mounted to 67,376.

On a brighter note, 68,584 patients managed to recover from the contagious disease in the past 24 hours and the total recoveries rose to 29,70,493. This translates to a recovery rate of 77.09 percent, while the active cases stood at 8,15,538.

India feared the Coronavirus in August severely as every other the country reported highest spike in fresh cases. The total infections in India increased rapidly in July month.

The area of concern is that the gap between Brazil and India in terms of total infections is just 1,00,000. If India continues to report fresh cases at the same phase within no time it will overtake Brazil and emerge as the second worst-hit nation.

Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, and Bihar are the worst-affected states in India with the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus.

Globally, around 26,169,212 patients were infected with the dreaded virus while over 18,430,897 patients have been recovered so far. The virus claimed 866,581 lives globally.
