Immigration Officials served notices to the 600-odd Students in connection with the US Visa Fraud Case seeking their presence for the deportation hearings. On Thursday, Immigrants waited for hours in long queues at the courts across the country. Much to their shock, All of them were asked to leave citing the notices served to them were invalid.

As per the Supreme Court ruling, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) should serve the notices with date, time and location. The Immigration Officials, however, failed to comply with this ruling while serving the notices.

Around 8 lakh Immigration Cases have been pending in the US Courts. 'Invalid Notices' which has been served since the past few months have led to a confusion among the immigrants. Government Shutdown & Challenging Weather Conditions complicated the situation further.
