Is Chandrababu Naidu playing mind-games with the YSRCP? It appears so. His recent statements appear to have been aimed at keeping the YSRCP leaders and the cadres confused. He is charged up after the two recent setbacks that the YSRCP has suffered and is said to be planning to inflict more pain on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He has recently said that several YSRCP MLAs were in touch with him. This statement has set the cat among the pigeons for the YSRCP. Already four of the YSRCP MLAs have cross-voted in the recent MLC elections and have left the YSRCP gasping for breath. Now with this statement, Chandrababu has created more confusion in the YSRCP.
The YSRCP leaders are already sore that Jagan is inaccessible to them and rarely speaks to them. Even senior leaders find it difficult to reach him. As a result, the leaders are unable to discuss key issues like internal bickering, groupism and other administration related matters. The cross-voting by four YSRCP MLAs has come at this juncture.
Usually, it is the ruling party which poaches the opposition MLAs. But, in Andhra Pradesh, the reverse has happened and the ruling party's machinery and even the intel resources were blissfully unaware of the brewing dissidence. Amid all this, Chandrababu's latest statement is set to rise uncertainty within the YSRCP. More MLAs could actually start contacting the TDP boss in times to come, feel analysts.
