Till now, his world was limited to the lanes and bylanes of Ambarpet assembly constituency and he has spent most of his time in the constituency. Never did he venture outside his constituency. Even as party president, G Kishan Reddy was bothered only about Amberpet.
But, the defeat in the assembly elections seems to have changed all that. He is now MP of Secunderabad and in fact, the only Telugu minister from both the states. Suddenly, he looks transformed. He is not just bothered about his Lok Sabha constituency. Insiders say he wants to excel as a minister in Modi cabinet and grow into a powerful player in Telangana. With many predicting that the BJP is future in Telangana and could even form a government in 2024. If that happens, then Kishan Reddy is going to be a CM candidate too.
So, he is said to be building a strong team to support him in Lok Sabha, in Secunderabad and as a Minister of state for Home affairs. He is said to be busy recruiting enterprising young IAS and IPS officers into his team so that they can help him understand the things in the home ministry. Sources say he is also trying to strengthen his local team. With CM dreams in the eyes, Kishan Reddy is now a changed man - a man determined to occupy the rightful place.
