Is Revanth Reddy's RSS background coming in the way of his being made the Pradesh Congress Committee chief in Telangana? It appears so as a section of Congress leaders have strongly objected to the reports that Revanth could replace Uttam Kumar Reddy as PCC chief. Leaders like V Hanumanth Rao, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka have reportedly met party's senior leaders and complained that Revanth has an active RSS background. He was an active ABVP worker, they said. Then he joined the TDP and was its MLA and MLC for nearly 10 years. It was after this that he had joined the Congress and such turncoat should not be made party leader, they argued.
It is after these leaders meeting that party affairs incharge for Telangana RC Khuntia had said that there would be no change in the PCC leadership. So, it is clear that his RSS links have come in the way of his becoming the party chief in Telangana. Reports said that the party high command has almost cleared Revanth's name for the PCC chief's post, but had to back off in the wake of objections from senior hands.
The seniors also told RC Khuntia that they would not accept the leadership of Revanth Reddy as he is from an RSS background. It was after this meeting that Khuntia has announced that there would be no change in the PCC chief in Telangana.
