Is Somu Veerraju Consolidating Kapu Vote In AP?

Is the BJP trying to play the Kapu card in Andhra Pradesh? The appointment of Kapu leader Somu Veerraju is being seen as a firm indication of this move. The party leadership has been in the hands of Kapus for two terms. Earlier it was Kanna Lakshminarayana. Now it is Somu Veerraju.
Veerraju is known to enjoy very good relations with the Mega family. He had played a key role in bringing Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena to support the BJP-TDP alliance in 2014. Even after that, Somu maintained good relations with the Mega family. His recent visit to Mega Star Chiranjeevi shows that Somu is trying to bring Kapu icons closer to the BJP. Sources say that many TDP Kapu leaders are already in touch with Somu Veerraju and that they might join the BJP at the right time.
If and when that happens, the TDP will lose the Kapu votes big time. It's strength would be considerably reduced. If the BJP becomes stronger in AP, the biggest casualty would be none other than Chandrababu Naidu. Let's wait and see how things unfold.
