Is the BJP trying to become a B team of the TDP in Telangana too? This was the question that readily comes up in the minds of anyone who heard BJP leader and former minister Motkupalli Narsimhulu's comments on NTR's birth anniversary.
A large section in the BJP in Andhra Pradesh is already toeing Chandrababu line and some leaders are more loyal to Chandrababu rather than the BJP. As for Telangana, the TDP has become totally non-existent. Yet, Motkupalli, a former TDP leader and a minister in Chandrababu government, said that the BJP would organise NTR's birth and death anniversary as state functions if it comes to power. He also said that KCR was nothing without NTR. 'Had there been no TDP and NTR, what would be the fate of KCR? Could he ever hope to become a Chief Minister?' he asked. He was speaking more like a TDP man rather than a BJP man.
Motkupally also wanted AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to rename any district in the state after NTR. Over all, it looked quite clear that he could not come out of the TDP hangover.
