Is it appropriate to privatise VSP that is supplying oxygen to the country: Chiranjeevi

In the tough time of shortage of oxygen supply for the Covid-19 patients in India, the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant(VSP) came to the rescue of the country by producing oxygen.

The oxygen produced in the VSP will be transported to the states that are in need of oxygen to treat the patients. The vaccine trains, dedicated to supplying oxygen for the states will supply the oxygen.

It is the same Steel Plant, which will be privatised by the Union Government. When the Union government is in plans to privatise the plant, the plant is lending a helping hand to the country.

Talking about the same, Megastar Chiranjeevi shared a post on Microblogging Site Twitter. In the post, he said is it appropriate to privatise the plant, which is producing around 11 tonnes of oxygen, on the grounds of not making profits, he said.

"Corona patients are struggling with the scarcity of oxygen across the country. A special train has reached the Vizag Steel Plant today. From there, the train is supplying 150 tonnes of oxygen to Maharashtra. Visakha Steel Plant is producing around 100 tonnes of oxygen daily. In the current emergency situations, it is saving many lives by supplying oxygen to several states. To what extent it is good to privatise the Visakha steel plant on the reason of making losses," Megastar Chiranjeevi’s post loosely translates.
