Is it the end of the road for Marri Rajasekhar?

Is it the end of the road for senior politician and diehard YS Jagan supporter Marri Rajasekhar? Though he has Jagan's word that he would be suitably rewarded for his sacrifices for the party, especially for standing down in favour of Vidadala Rajini from Chilakaluripet, the promise remained a pipedream.

Though he was promised a Rajya Sabha seat, his name was not found in the final list of the YSRCP Rajya Sabha candidates.  He is among the very few Kamma faces of the YSRCP. But, that did not get him any rewards. Now, Vidadala Rajani has been made a minister and her domination in Chilakaluripet politics is now almost complete.

Rajasekhar was elected MLA in 2004 with full support from YS Rajasekhara Reddy. But, in both 2009 and 2014, he lost to TDP's Prattipati Pulla Rao. In 2019, he wanted to contest again. But, YS Jagan requested him to allow Rajini to contest.  She managed to defeat Pulla Rao and became an MLA. Now, she is a minister too.

Rajasekhar is now the coordinator for Krishna NTR district.  Sources say that this appointment effectively means that Marri Rajasekhar will have to focus on undivided Krishna district. As a result, he would slowly lose his grip on Chilakaluripet. This only means, the floor is open for Vidadala Rajini.
