In Nalgonda, it is padayatra time. With Nagarjuna Sagar byelections and elections to the Warangal-Karimnagar-Nalgonda graduate constituency round the corner, all major political parties are busy organizing padayatras. The Congress has already started and the BJP too is joining the race.
Already CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka has covered Miryalguda, Nagarjunasagar, Kodad, Suryapet and Huzurnagar constituencies by holding interactive meetings with the youth, the unemployed and the farmers. Meanwhile, senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy too is all set to launch a project padayatra to highlight the delay in the completion of the irrigation projects. He wants to put the TRS government on the dock over the issue of lack of water resources in Nalgond. In another significant development, Nalgonda district BJP president Kankanala Sridhar Reddy has also launched a padayatra in the district to highlight the failures of the Government.
Interestingly, Sridhar Reddy's wife and the BJP candidate in the last elections, Nivedita Reddy, wanted to launch the padayatra. However, the party leadership has asked her to defer her yatra and asked her husband to undertake the yatra. This is being seen as an indication that the party may not want her to be the candidate for the Nagarjunasagar bypoll.
