Rare Meeting Of Three Leaders Brings Alive Old Memories

The presence of AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Telangana CM K CR and DMK's Stalin on the same dais at the swearing in of Jagan Reddy presented a picture perfect reminder of the history of Telugus.

The present generation may not be aware that Andhra region was once part of the Madras Presidency. In 1953, the Andhra region got separated from the Madras Presidency. The Andhra State was formed with Prakasam Pantulu as the CM and Kurnool as the capital. Then within a year, Telangana part was added to the Andhra state and thus Andhra Pradesh was born on November 1, 1954. With the Telangana region fighting for a separate status, finally the Telangana state was carved out in 2014. The presence of the two CMs and the DMK chief on the same stage has brought back the memories of the Madras Presidency, United AP and the bifurcation of the state into Telangana and AP. Many old timers were seen talking about this.

It also presented a hope that the three states will remain together and work in tandem to ensure that the people of the three states live in peace and prosperity.
