With the special court not granting AP CM Jagan exemption from personal appearance for his ongoing trails in the disproportionate assets, he has moved the Telangana High Court challenging the directions of the CBI special court and ED.

For a long time, Jagan has been requesting the special courts to exempt him from appearing personally before the courts as this involves a huge expense on the state as he has to follow the protocol. He has been visiting Hyderbad every Friday since he was released on bail.

He even stated that AP which is in deficit state cannot take the burden to spend sixty lakhs every week. To allow the other co-accused A2 on his behalf in this trails, he has sought the approval of the PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) court.

Mr. Reddy reiterated the plea before the High Court and once again said that he cannot appear before the court personally every Friday as he is in CM post now and with this trial, he is unable to render his duties as the head of the state.

Going back into the history of Jagan's case, CBI has filed cases on him on the charges of accumulating more than Rs 1 lakh crore by misusing the CM's office, when Jagan's father late YS Rajasekhara Reddy was the CM of the combined AP.
