Jagan to Abolish Legislative Council?
X
With the Three Capitals and AP Reorganisation bill entering the AP Legislative Council, the house chairman has sent both bills to select committee which resulted in a temporary halt in this process.

In the wake of this, CM Jagan held a key meeting with the Supreme Court advocate Mukul Rohtagi on how about going ahead with the capital row. It has been reported that Jagan took a daring decision on his 'Three Capitals' issue.

It has been reported that Jagan proposed the idea to abolish the Legislative Council in the meeting. This idea got a mixed response from the party leaders reportedly as some members supported this and some members opposed this idea.

In what it could be to shock the opposition, Jagan has decided to propose the bill to abolish the Legislative Council and the bill will be tabled in the State Assembly reportedly.

Talking about this historic move the party leaders have expressed their doubts about the practicality on this move as this will be completely under the Centre and the process will take at least one year.

After listening to this Jagan reportedly said that as TDP enjoys a clear majority in the Legislative council any bill tabled in the upper house will be in favour of the opposition party only. So to counter this Jagan opted for the abolishment of the council. Let's see what happens in the Assembly sessions.
