Jagans political master stroke
X
AP CM YS Jagan's decision to have three capital cities for Andhra Pradesh is setting the cat among the pigeons. His decision to have three capitals – political capital at Amaravati, executive capital at Vizag and legal and judicial capital at Kurnool is being seen as a political master stroke. The TDP cannot oppose this as it will lose its support base in North Andhra and Rayalaseema and will end up as a party of central coastal AP. Even the TDP leaders from these regions cannot oppose the capitals. If it opposes, it will lose support in both the regions.

The TDP can neither protest the decision nor oppose it. It cannot take to streets as its own cadre in north Andhra and Rayalaseema would not support the agitation. Secondly, the YSRCP has exposed the shady land dealings of several TDP leaders in and around Amaravati. If it comes out in support of Amaravati, it would be seen as an attempt to protect its own landed assets. This will make it look like a party of land dealers. It may be recalled that the recent Amaravati Yatra of Chandrababu Naidu has ended up as a dud as the public response was very poor and at several places, the farmers shouted slogans against him. This shows that not everyone is happy with his choice of Amaravati as the capital.

So, don't be surprised if Chandrababu does another U Turn and supports the move to form three capitals, then that will be the end of Amaravati real estate dream. This move will hit at the root of the economic support base of the party. So, both ways, Chandrababu will end up as a loser. A master move indeed by the YSRCP.
