The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a popular tournament in the country that attracts the viewership of fans across the globe. Putting an end to the long wait, the 16th season of the tournament started the other day. The opening ceremony was a star-studded affair. The IPL started with a bang with the defending champions Gujarat Titans taking on the mighty CSK.

It is said that the opening match of the tournament crossed the massive 50 crore views while 1.6 crore fans watched the match when CSK chief Mahendra Singh Dhoni was on strike.

Ruturaj Gaikwad gave the IPL opening match a fiery start with a brilliant 90. Gujarat chased the target with four balls to spare. Opener Shubman Gill gave a good start by scoring a quick 63 in just 36 balls.
