Earlier, in December 2020, the United States administration approved the Coronavirus vaccination drive after the Advisory Committee of FDA is satisfied with the data produced by the pharma companies.

US President-elect Joe Biden got his second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at a hospital in Newark, Delaware, on Monday. He received the first dose of the vaccine four weeks earlier.

After taking the vaccine dose, Joe Biden addressed the reporters and said maintaining social distancing and wearing face masks outdoors should be continued though the vaccines have arrived.

"Folks, I just received the second dose of my COVID-19 vaccine - and just like the first dose, it was safe, quick, and painless. I urge everyone to get vaccinated once it’s your turn. Because only together can we save lives and beat this virus," Joe Biden's tweet read.

To draw a new strategic plan to vaccinate the people in the United States, Joe Biden will hold a virtual meeting with the Coronavirus team very soon and the vaccine plan would be announced soon.

Despite the vaccine approval, the fresh cases are not coming down in the cases. The United States continues to add more than one lakh fresh Covid-19 infections since November.

Over the past seven days, the US has been registering more than 200,000 new Covid-19 infections, the John Hopkins University said. In the past 24 hours, too over 2 lakh cases were reported.
