The paddy procurement issue has created a political storm in Telangana with the state government and Union government indulging in blame games and accusing each other of cheating farmers are adding troubles for the farmers. Hitting back at T-BJP allegations, the TRS government locked horns with the Centre and launched an attack against the government with a demand that the Centre should procure the paddy from the farmers.

With a sole demand to pressurise the Union government to procure paddy, the TRS government had started Dharna in the state. The 'TRS Maha Dharna' started by the TRS is getting bigger and bigger with each passing day. After Ministers, MLAs, Chief Minister KCR himself stepped into the Dharna.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) founder-chief, Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao took part in the Dharna at the Indira Park on Thursday and addressed the gathering there. He lashed out at the Centre during his address.

He slammed the Union government over its anti-farmer policies and said these policies are causing a lot of damage for the farmers. Holding Centre responsible for the injustice towards the farmers, the Chief Minister urged the Centre to change its behavior and policies for the betterment of the farmers.

Calling the Maha Dharna just a beginning, CM KCR went all guns aimed at the Centre and also slammed the controversial agriculture bills announced by the Union government. Talking about the ongoing agitation by the farmers at the Delhi border against the farm bills, KCR said that he is supporting the farmers. In the future, we will join them and make the fight even more bigger, he said.

KCR gave clarity on why he had to urge the farmers to not go for paddy cultivation. CM KCR said that he requested the farmers to go for alternative crops with the policies of the Centre. We took the decision for the betterment of the farmers and to see that the framers won't face any issues, he said. Making his stand strong on the demand for paddy procurement, CM KCR warned that if the Centre won't procure the paddy, the paddy grains would be dumped in BJP offices.
