CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy proposed three capitals for Andhra Pradesh (Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, Kurnool). He, however, maintained that final decision will be taken based on the report submitted by the Experts Panel appointed by the State Government. Main Opposition Telugu Desam has been making a hue & cry over the new proposal.
Reminding that there are backward regions in AP, Minister Kodali Nani stressed the need for decentralization of power for equal justice to all the three regions. He claims people across the state have been welcoming the 3 capitals proposal. 'In Amaravati, Assembly, State & Central Government Structures will be established. Secretariat is going to be in Uttar Andhra. High Court would be set up in Kurnool which will be Judicial Capital. Lawyers has been staging protest for the past 97 days demanding High Court in Kurnool. Not just YCP, Even TDP Leaders are happy with the '3 Capitals' proposal,' he said.
Kodali Nani informed that State Government will collect the feedback from the public after the submission of the report by the Experts Panel. He didn't rule out necessary corrections in the proposals based on the views expressed by majority of the people.
