The Konaseema violence seems to be having interesting side effects. The riots, caused by those opposing the renaming of Konaseema, had left a trail of arson, destruction and damage to properties. The houses of a minister and an MLA were set on fire. The police are now examining the call data and are in the process of identifying the culprits of the crime.

One side effect of the violence in Konaseema is because of the Internet shutdown. The police banned all mobile phone services and the Internet to ensure that the rumours do not fly thick and fast. It has already been three days and it is likely to continue for a couple of more days.

This decision of the government has proved to be a huge problem for the large number of call centre and software professionals who are working from home. These employees, who are actually working in Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad, are now in their homes in Konaseema and are availing the work-from-home facility.

These employees are unable to fulfil on time the tasks that are given to them by their masters due to the Internet shutdown. Mukteswaram area alone seems to be having some Internet connection. So, most of the software professionals are going to Mukteswaram and are working throughout the day.

The business community seems to be among the hardest hit. Systems like the Phone Pe, Google Pe and Amazon Pe are not working due to the non-availability of the Internet. As a result, they are unable to conduct their financial transactions. Only cash transactions are now being possible in Konaseema. The Konaseema violence seems to be having interesting side effects.
