Kuppam becomes a prestigious battleground for YSRCP, TDP

Kuppam is fast becoming a bone of contention between two major political parties - the YSRCP and the TDP â in Andhra Pradesh. For the TDP, it is a question of regaining the lost glory in Kuppam. Kuppam has always been a TDP citadel and was represented by none other than Chandrababu himself. So, TDP wants to quickly get over the recent spate of reversals and wants to regain its lost glory.
As for the YSRCP, it has registered some impressive victories of late. It has grabbed a majority of the panchayats in Kuppam and them followed it up with decent victories in the ZPTC and MPTC elections. The latest victory is in municipal elections. The YSRCP wants to firm up its position and ensure that theTDP is decimated once and for all.
Interestingly, when Chandrababu was in power, he had turned all his focus on Kadapa, the home turf of YS Jagan. He developed the constituency, released funds and wanted to lure away Jagan's associates. YS Jagan too is following the same strategy. He has already lured several TDP leaders in Kuppam. He is flooding the constituency with funds.
But now, Chandrababu Naidu is trying to regain his form by taking up repeated visits to Kuppam. He has said that he would visit Kuppam once in three months and would mobilise the support for the TDP. Both the parties are pulling all stops and are trying to get one up on the other in Kuppam. Let's wait and see who will have the last laugh.
