Are the media houses interested only in sensationalism? Are they interested only in peddling fake stories? For instance, a very reputed and largest circulated Telugu daily has recently given a news report saying that the Narendra Modi Government is trying to account for every gram of gold held in private hands and is calling for a massive audit. This was given such a wide coverage that there was panic everywhere. This was picked up by other media channel and there was a rat race over giving out this news report.

So, despite the rejoinder, the "reputed" media house chose to publish the story that would only serve to create panic among the general public and spread disaffection against the Central Government. So much for objectivity in journalism.
