Leftist Dilemma In MLC Elections
X
With the graduate MLC elections round the corner, the Leftists are in a strange dilemma. Not that they can win a seat of two, but they do have a significant presence in Khammam district in the Khammam-Warangal-Karimnagar constituency. So, they are now planning to contest from that constituency.

Their dilemma is that they cannot support T JAC chief Prof. Kodandaram simply because they have their own candidate. But what about the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar Graduates constituency? Here they do not really have an influential presence. They cannot support the TRS as they are opposing the TRS in Khammam-Warangal-Karimnagar seat. There is no question whatsoever of voting for the BJP as it is an ideological rival. So, they have decided to support Dr Nageshwar.

Dr Nageshwar is a known Leftist and had always been active in the Left movements. Despite putting on a façade of neutrality and non-partisanism, Dr Nageshwar's left leanings are very clear. He had headed the Left-backed TV channels and spoke extensively on Left platforms. It suits them to back him. At the same time, they can always claim that they have not joined hands with the TRS in Hyderabad-Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy constituency.
