Jammu and Kashmir is always a sensitive issue in India. The ruling and opposition parties still fight over Article 370. Amid this, Jammu and Kashmir issue found itself in headlines after Microblogging site Twitter reportedly showed the Leh region as a part of China.

This did not go well with the Indian government and it pulled Twitter over the misrepresenting of the Indian map and strongly opposed the actions.

According to the information, IT Secretary Ajay Sawhney has written to Twitter Chief Executive Officer(CEO) to respect Indian Sovereignty and warned the platform.

With a strong tone, Ajay Sawhney said the Indian government strongly disapproved of the map representation and such issues will raise doubts on the neutrality of the platform.

"Leh region is the headquarter of Union Territory of Ladakh a,d Jammu and Kashmir are integral parts of the country. They are governed by the Indian Constitution," Sawhney reportedly said in his letter.

With raising controversy, Twitter responded to the misrepresentation of the Indian map. A Spokesperson said, they respect the sensitivities and committed to working with the Indian government.
