The Telangana Cabinet meeting chaired by CM KCR has announced a 20-hour lockdown that will stay in place in the state for the next 10 days starting from tomorrow. Essential services will be permitted between 6 AM to 10 AM.

After the permitted time, everything will be shut across the state barring the essential services. With the lockdown announced, the liquor shops in Hyderabad witnessed long queues as the liquor lovers rushed to the stalls.

Fearing that they might not be able to buy liquor during the lockdown period, liquor lovers tried to stock up liquor. This in turn resulted in the liquor shops, witnessing chaotic scenes.

Social distancing rules were taken for a ride at the liquor shops. Experts are fearing that the liquor shops might turn into super-spreaders of the highly contagious disease.

The situation has reached a level that within minutes, 'No Stock' boards were put outside the liquor shops. Social distancing rules were not followed outside the liquor shops and most of them were seen without facemasks.

On the other hand, the Liquor and Bar Association has urged the Telangana government to allow the home delivery of liquor and see that the liquor production is not stopped. The Association has written to the state government in this regard.
