Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, who is popularly known as Little Master has made some interesting comments on the fanfare enjoyed by former Indian Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

In an interview to a leading national daily, Sunil Gavaskar said that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a step ahead compared to Cricket Legend Sachin Tendulkar and Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

"Tendulkar enjoys fandom in Mumbai and Kolkata, while Virat Kohli has a huge fan following in Delhi and Bengaluru. When it comes to Dhoni, whole India loves him," media outlets quoted Sunil Gavaskar.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who entered the Cricket ground after 14 months, guided CSK to a victory against defending champion Mumbai Indians in the inaugural match of the IPL 13th edition.

After winning the toss, CSK put MI to bat first. In 20 overs, Mumbai managed to add 162 for nine to the scoreboard. Despite getting a fierce start, MI failed to continue the run rate.

Chennai's inning too started slowly. After losing two early wickets, the 115-run partnership between Ambati Rayudu and Faf du Plessis made the run chase easy. In the end,  Sam Curran made a crucial cameo with  6-ball 18 runs.
