Long March Effect: Key Leader Leaves Jana Sena
X
Even as Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan organised his two km "Long March" on the sand scarcity issue, his party suffered desertion. One of the key leaders and former minister Pasupuleti Balaraju has resigned from the party. The resignation came at a time when Pawan launched his yatra.

Balaraju, a tribal leader, said that the Jana Sena has no policy or principle. He also strongly opposed the vague and mindless criticism of the AP Government. He said that the Jana Sena has stopped discussing the people's issues and that it has completely failed in addressing the issues pertaining to the people. He sought to know why Pawan Kalyan was taking out the Long March even when the state government was making sincere efforts to solve the issue. He also lauded YSRCP government's moves to abrogate GO No 97, which allowed bauxite mining in the agency areas of the state..

Balaraju had contested on Jana Sena ticket in the recent assembly elections and lost. Ever since, he has been keeping a low profile and has not been attending party programmes. He is from North Andhra and his resignation from the party at a time when Pawan launched his Long March in Vizag is being seen as a significant development. Meanwhile, though Pawan's long march was well attended, many Jana Sena leaders chose to stay away. Only Pawan fans and TDP leaders were present.
