The on going Maharashtra political crisis is going through a lot of twists and turns. As a big twist, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray stepped down as the Chief Minister. To form the government, Bharatiya Janata Party and rebel MLAs led by Eknath Shinde met for a crucial meeting.

Since yesterday, it has been widely reported that BJP senior leader Devendra Fadnavis, who served as the Chief Minister for a few days will be made the Chief Minister and rebel leader Eknath Shinde will be given the deputy post.

As a big development that no one would have expected, the Chief Minister candidate changed with Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde getting finalized. Devendra Fadnavis, who was expected to take the Chief Minister post took a back step and said that Shinde will take oath today.

It is said that Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis came to a point where the former should become the Chief Minister. The rebel MLAs who took Eknath Shinde, reportedly made it clear that they cannot support BJP if Shinde is not made the CM.

BJP and Shiv Sena had to end ties over the Chief Minister post. After the 2019 posts, Shiv Sena and BJP had a fight over who gets to become the CM. While Shiv Sena said Uddhav will take up the post, BJP said it cannot give the Chief Minister post. Looks like BJP is not ready to repeat the same.
