Disha Act introduced by the AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy which talks about the speed justice for the crimes against women has made Maharashtra government study the act and the concerned officials who had earlier traveled in the state will submit the report by March 30.

Earlier the Kerala government said that they are not hesitant to look at the Disha Act to see that their state deals the crimes against women in a harsh manner. Now its the turn of Maharashtra state.

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and five other officials from the state had visited Hyderabad to study about the Disha Act and look at the possibilities of implementing the same act in Maharashtra.

"We have studied the Act. The officials have been asked to submit a report by March 30. After that, it will be presented before the Cabinet and further action will be taken," Anil Deshmukh said.

CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray said that the government is very serious about the crimes against women and has decided to not just punish the criminals but also put an end to the crimes.
