The political crisis in Maharashtra which lasted for around one month ended up in favour of Shiv Sena rebel leader Eknath Shinde who became the Chief Minister in a dramatic turn of events. No one expected that Shinde would become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
He started facing the heat after making it to the Chief Minister post. Eknath Shinde could not find the required faces for the Cabinet as many rebels expected that they would get a Cabinet berth. So he took his time in setting the Cabinet right.
Keeping an end to the long wait, the Maharashtra government led by Eknath Shinde expanded its Cabinet and the BJP got an upper hand in the new Cabinet. The key posts were with the BJP leader.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was given the key portfolios of Home and Finance in the new Cabinet. The key BJP leader was also given the Planning Ministry.
Not just this, the Cabinet saw BJP leaders getting key posts in the new Cabinet. Though Eknath Shinde is the Chief Minister the key posts went to the BJP and its leaders. This happens when a party seeks support from a stronger party.
It is known that Eknath Shinde made it to the Chief Minister post with the support of the BJP. Devendra Fadnavis was supposed to be the Chief Minister but things changed rapidly and Eknath Shinde became the Chief Minister.
