Major shock to TRS in civic body polls

The TRS suffered a major shock on Friday when its key leader and mayor position aspirant Darga Dayakar Reddy joined the Congress party and took ticket to constest as a Congress candidate. Darga Dayakar Reddy is a very important leader in the TRS and played a very important role in the victory of Medchal MLA and minister Malla Reddy.
Dayakar Reddy, who was initially promised mayoral post, was later cold-shouldered.Angered by this, Dayakar Reddy was keeping a low profile. In a swift move, Congress leader Revanth Reddy rushed to the house of Dayakar Reddy and offered him a Congress ticket. Dayakar Reddy immediately accepted and announced that he would contest on the Congress ticket. This has left the TRS, especially Minister Malla Reddy completely shocked. So rattled he was that he cancelled all his engagements and rushed to Dayakar Reddy’s house.
Malla Reddy has been facing rough weather for quite some time as many of his close associates have left him and several of the party leaders are upset with him. Former Medchal MLA Sudhir Reddy had an open wordy duel with Malla Reddy over ticket distribtution in Medchal district. Dayakar Reddy’s sudden and unexpected exit has only worsened the situation for him.
