When the All India Trinamool Congress is celebrating the election result as the party is leading in over 200 Assembly seats, the party and party chief Mamata Banerjee suffered a hammer blow.

The BJP has claimed that Divyendu Adhikar has won the Nandigram Assembly constituency with a majority of 1,622 votes. As a twist in the tale, Mamata accepted the defeat reportedly.

"Don't worry about Nandigram, I struggled for Nandigram because I fought a movement. It's ok. Let the Nandigram people give whatever verdict they want, I accept that. I don't mind. We won more than 221 seats & BJP has lost the election," Mamata Banerjee said.

Accusing the Election Commission working in the favour of BJP, Mamata Banerjee said she will move the Supreme Court in this regard.

Despite the loss in the election, Mamata Benerjee said, she will take oath as the Chief Minister and the oath-taking ceremony will have a limited number of guests given the Covid-19 scare.
